YES YES We have good covage off of N9UMJ-10 to Vincennes. But along the river and south it is dead or very poor.
If you would like to listen for N9UMJ-10 in your area. Set you radio Encoder to 192.8 PL on 144.390 and listen for it. http://wb9tlh.ampr.us/pl_tones.htm
Do you have a good site???

Yes, a digi in Vinceness is needed, You should be able to get into n9umj-10 if you can get 50 feet or higher, The Knox county sheriffs dept. tower would be ideal. ( of course the higher the better) Feel free to contact me if you have questions about APRS. Dwight WB9TLH has been overseeing most of the APRS activity in the area and would also be a very good source for information about APRS.
Keep us updated on your progress.

If your not sure, open the the case and look at the large chip and there should be a label with the version number, you will need version 8 or later.

You will need to order a new chip from Kantronics at 785 842-7745, you also might be able to order on line at www.kantronics.com. I've also seen them on ebay, be sure that is V8.0 or higher if you order from kantronics it won't cost anymore to get the latest V9.+++. they normally cost less than $60.00 and are very easy to replace, as long as the notch in the chip matches the board. Be careful!!
If your not comfortable with that maybe we can meet half way between Bedford and Vinceness and I can change out the chip and flash in the program data for your digi.
You can reach me for more info at n9umj@yahoo.com
